UNESCO: Yakushima where trees of the age of 1,000 years grow

What is Yakushima?

I have never been to Yakushima before. But I heard good things about the place. Especially, it is very famous for Jyoumonsugi which you can find in the secound video.

From wiki
Yakushima (屋久島) is one of the Ōsumi Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. The island, 504.88 km2 (194.94 sq mi) in area, has a population of 13,178. Access to the island is by hydrofoil ferry (7 or 8 times a day from Kagoshima, depending on the season), slow car ferry (once or twice a day from Kagoshima), or by air to Yakushima Airport (3 to 5 times daily from Kagoshima, once daily from Fukuoka and once daily from Osaka). Administratively, the whole island is the town of Yakushima. The town also serves neighbouring Kuchinoerabujima. The majority of the island is within the borders of the Kirishima-Yaku National Park

Spiritual but mysterious place: Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine

Very spiritual and mysterious place

The shrine is hidden among the forests surrounding Takamori, a small town that lies in the Aso region of Kumamoto Prefecture. This shrine is well-known among locals as a power spot, and this is not surprising for it has a highly spiritual atmosphere. Those who visit the shrine and touch the Hogeto Iwa Stone are said to be granted good luck, and the shrines sacred Nagi Tree is said to protect relationships.

Beautiful Japanese Flower Ajisai: hydrangea

June and rainy season also means it’s the season for the grey month’s most iconic flower: ajisai, the Japanese hydrangea. To see the blue beauties in bloom right here in Tokyo, head for Hakusan Shrine and its popular Ajisai Matsuri, which features up to 3,000 flowers spread out over an area reaching from the shrine toward nearby Hakusan Park. The shrine itself is known for its power to heal dental ills (!), so you might be able to catch a toothbrush offering or the like during the event period.

Various places in Japanese town (Autumn)

As I mentioned in previous post that my favorite season is autumn. This video clip is very good video to see many place of Japanese cities in autumn. It is much better to be those places and feel the air, smell, temperature and everything...maybe someday.

Fall in Nagano (Shinshu)

Fall in Nagano

The Japanese make a lot of the fact that they have four distinct seasons - as if it was something unique to their country. Actually, the fact that the archipelago covers several climatic zones and is caught between the Asian continent and the Pacific does cause dramatic mood swings in the weather. Cold, dry winters and hot, humid summers can be found all over the world but there are certain seasonal treats that only Japan can offer and others that have their own local twist.

My best season is Autumn. I just like weather of Autumn it is kida chilly outside. But Sunshine is very warm and nice. Trees are changing colors to beautiful yellow and read. It is amazing! I just love everything about Autumn.

Do you know Kodo? If not you are missing something!

Kodō (鼓童?) is a professional taiko drumming troupe. Based on Sado Island, Japan, they have had a role in popularizing taiko drumming, both in Japan and abroad. They regularly tour Japan, Europe, and the United States.
Although the main focus of the performance is taiko drumming, other traditional Japanese musical instruments such as fue and shamisen make an appearance on stage as do traditional dance and vocal performance. Kodo's performance include pieces based on the traditional rhythms of regional Japan, pieces composed for Kodo by contemporary songwriters, and pieces written by Kodo members themselves. The numbers that Kodo perform can change from concert to concert. Kodo's performance normally lasts for about one hour and forty minutes.
In Japanese the word "Kodo" conveys two meanings: "heartbeat" the primal source of all rhythm and, read in a different way, the word can mean "children of the drum," a reflection of Kodo's desire to play their drums simply, with the heart of a child.
Kodo strives to both preserve and re-interpret traditional Japanese performing arts. From worldwide tours and research trips, Kodo brings back to Sado world music and experiences which now exert a strong influence on the group's performances and compositions. They also collaborate with other artists and composers.

Watching Amzing "Zen" video clip

"Zen" means "to think about anything" and "arrive at the contemplation of" The purpose of the mini-garden of Zen - give you the "feel the moment", freeing up time from life's troubles and fleeting domestic troubles.
According to Eastern philosophy of Zen Buddhism is quintessence. Garden symbolizes the excitement and serenity that can instill a sense of grandeur to the owner and the balance through the contemplation of stones and sculptures.
It is believed that Zen meditation promotes relaxation and in the modern world is fleeting. Your movements become serene, freeing the mind, giving inspiration and creativity. When contemplating a mini-garden of Zen it is possible to feel a new kind of relaxation that allows you to draw upon the harmony and splendor - and in my heart and in mind.
